As a legislator Margaret Ng was at the centre of events in the often turbulent years covering the transfer of Hong Kong’s sovereignty and the rise of seminal changes in Hong Kong’s social and political life. This book tells the compelling story of a generation buffeted by the ups and downs that accompanies Hong Kong’s transition from a British colony to becoming a Special Administrative Region of the People’s Republic of China.
This is an insiders’ story with a sharp eye to understanding what was happening outside. It is a piece of living history.
